Shenandoah Shores

The Neighborhood

Nestled in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley and bordering the Shenandoah River, Shenandoah Shores is a private community offering a boat landing and picnic area for residents to enjoy. The community is home to over 500 property owners. Shenandoah Shores was developed in six sections comprising of single-family houses with lots in each section subject to a set of recorded covenants. These Covenants from the 1950's and 1960's can be found on this website.

All of the property owners in the community are part of the Shenandoah Shores Sanitary District, which was originally established in 1971. The Sanitary District is currently operated through the Shenandoah Shores Property Owners Association, Inc. (SSPOA), which is responsible for maintaining the streets, street signs, and water supply systems within the community. While membership in SSPOA is voluntary, a portion of real estate taxes paid to Warren County are allocated to the SSPOA to provide these necessary services to the residents of Shenandoah Shores.

Shenandoah Shores is close to an abundance of family-friendly activities such as hiking, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, biking, and more! Take your time exploring the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains, Shenandoah National Park, Shenandoah Caverns, or simply enjoy a walk down our historic Main Street in downtown Front Royal.
